(Android™) Send a Simple EmailCreate a simple email and sends it. The SendEmail method establishes a connection (session) with the SMTP server if necessary, and leaves the connection open so that additional sends may proceed using the same session. The SMTP connection (session) may be explicitly closed by calling CloseSmtpSession. Important: Some SMTP servers do not actually send the email until the connection is closed. In these cases, it is necessary to call CloseSmtpConnection for the mail to be sent. Most SMTP servers send the email immediately, and it is not required to close the connection. More information about minimizing SMTP connections.
// Important: Don't forget to include the call to System.loadLibrary // as shown at the bottom of this code sample. package com.test; import android.app.Activity; import com.chilkatsoft.*; import android.widget.TextView; import android.os.Bundle; public class SimpleActivity extends Activity { private static final String TAG = "Chilkat"; // Called when the activity is first created. @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); // This example requires the Chilkat API to have been previously unlocked. // See Global Unlock Sample for sample code. // The mailman object is used for sending and receiving email. CkMailMan mailman = new CkMailMan(); // Set the SMTP server. mailman.put_SmtpHost("smtp.my_mail_server.com"); // Set the SMTP login/password (if required) mailman.put_SmtpUsername("myUsername"); mailman.put_SmtpPassword("myPassword"); // The typical SMTP ports are 465 for implicit SSL/TLS or 587 for explicit SSL/TLS mailman.put_SmtpPort(465); // For implicit TLS, set SmtpSsl = true mailman.put_SmtpSsl(true); // For explicit TLS, set StartTLS = true mailman.put_StartTLS(true); // Create a new email object CkEmail email = new CkEmail(); email.put_Subject("This is a test"); email.put_Body("This is a test"); // Don't forget to change this to use your email addresses.. email.put_From("Chilkat Support <support@chilkatsoft.com>"); boolean success = email.AddTo("Chilkat Admin","admin@chilkatsoft.com"); // To add more recipients, call AddTo, AddCC, or AddBcc once per recipient. // Call SendEmail to connect to the SMTP server and send. // The connection (i.e. session) to the SMTP server remains // open so that subsequent SendEmail calls may use the // same connection. success = mailman.SendEmail(email); if (success != true) { Log.i(TAG, mailman.lastErrorText()); return; } // Some SMTP servers do not actually send the email until // the connection is closed. In these cases, it is necessary to // call CloseSmtpConnection for the mail to be sent. // Most SMTP servers send the email immediately, and it is // not required to close the connection. We'll close it here // for the example: success = mailman.CloseSmtpConnection(); if (success != true) { Log.i(TAG, "Connection to SMTP server not closed cleanly."); } Log.i(TAG, "Mail Sent!"); } static { System.loadLibrary("chilkat"); // Note: If the incorrect library name is passed to System.loadLibrary, // then you will see the following error message at application startup: //"The application <your-application-name> has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." } } |
