(Android™) HTTP Digest-MD5 Authentication Testing with httpbin.orgThe URL https://httpbin.org/digest-auth/auth/user/passwd is password protected with user="user" and password="passwd". It requires Digest-MD5 authentication. Chilkat will automatically handle Digest-MD5 authentication as required by the server response. In this case, however, the server will fail the authentication unless a Cookie is included in the request. The cookie can have any name and any value. (Yes, this is ridiculous, and many developers have probably spent countless hours assuming their Digest-MD5 implementations were incorrect.)
// Important: Don't forget to include the call to System.loadLibrary // as shown at the bottom of this code sample. package com.test; import android.app.Activity; import com.chilkatsoft.*; import android.widget.TextView; import android.os.Bundle; public class SimpleActivity extends Activity { private static final String TAG = "Chilkat"; // Called when the activity is first created. @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); // This example assumes the Chilkat HTTP API to have been previously unlocked. // See Global Unlock Sample for sample code. CkHttp http = new CkHttp(); http.put_Login("user"); http.put_Password("passwd"); // Add a cookie to satisfy httpbin.org's desire for cookies.. // Otherwise, it will fail the perfectly valid Digest-MD5 authentication. http.SetRequestHeader("Cookie","something=\"something\""); String strResponse = http.quickGetStr("https://httpbin.org/digest-auth/auth/user/passwd"); if (http.get_LastMethodSuccess() == false) { Log.i(TAG, http.lastErrorText()); return; } Log.i(TAG, strResponse); int status = http.get_LastStatus(); Log.i(TAG, "response status code = " + String.valueOf(status)); // The output of this program is: // // { // "authenticated": true, // "user": "user" // } // // response status code = 200 } static { System.loadLibrary("chilkat"); // Note: If the incorrect library name is passed to System.loadLibrary, // then you will see the following error message at application startup: //"The application <your-application-name> has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." } } |
